FM Receives a Phone Call from the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the State of Libya

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, received a phone call on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, from the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the State of Libya, H.E. Mr. El- Taher El- Baour.

During the call, H.E. Mr. El- Baour extended his congratulations to H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein on the occasion of the renewal of confidence in him as Minister of Foreign Affairs, wishing him success and prosperity in the performance of his duties.

The call also addressed bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and the State of Libya, and ways to enhance joint cooperation in a manner that serves the interests of the two brotherly countries, in addition to emphasizing the importance of continuing coordination and consultation regarding issues of mutual interest.

H.E. the Minister also extended an invitation to H.E. Mr. El- Baour to visit Iraq, in a way that contributes to enhancing bilateral relations and expanding prospects for cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides further discussed developments in the region, where the Libyan official stressed the importance of the role played by Iraq in supporting regional security and stability, as well as its efforts to promote dialogue and rapprochement among the countries of the region.
