Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Receives a Phone Call from His Algerian Counterpart

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, received a phone call on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, from his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Attaf.

H.E. the Algerian Foreign Minister expressed the solidarity of the Government and people of Algeria with the Government and people of Iraq, affirming his country’s support for Iraq under all circumstances.

The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in the region and the challenges it is facing, particularly the repercussions resulting from the continuation of the war and their impact on regional stability.

For his part, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein expressed his thanks and appreciation to his Algerian counterpart for this initiative and the call, commending Algeria’s supportive and solidaristic position with the Iraqi people.
