Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives Credentials of Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Iraq

H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Eldar Salimov, on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, at the headquarters of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, avenues to enhance bilateral relations between the two friendly countries were discussed, along with developing areas of joint cooperation in a manner that serves mutual interests. Views were also exchanged on a number of issues of common concern.

The Ambassador conveyed to H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein the greetings of the Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov, affirming his country’s keenness to further enhance cooperative relations with Iraq across various fields.

For his part, the Minister expressed his best wishes to the new Ambassador for success in his duties, affirming the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ support for his efforts to enhance relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
