Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq Receives the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Iraq

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, received on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in Baghdad, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadegh.

During the meeting, the Iranian Ambassador delivered a written message to the Minister from the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Abbas Araghchi.

The message conveyed the Iranian viewpoint on key international issues, in addition to the political and security situation in the region.

The meeting also addressed developments in Iraq’s political situation in the post-election phase, as well as the steps being taken toward the formation of the government, in a manner that contributes to supporting stability and strengthening the political process.
